Although Kumon is a daily commitment, it is not a lot of time each day — around 15-30 minutes per subject. Still, the little time spent each day will begin decreasing the amount of time it takes to complete other homework as some of the basic skills which affect performance in those subjects are polished. Kumon does recommend that you come to the Center twice a week for about 30 minutes per subject, and homework must be completed on the five days that students do not attend class. Setting a “Kumon time” each day will make it ensure the work is completed — ex. Many students find it easiest to do it first thing in the morning, or after school before their regular homework. What is crucial is that the work is done daily, so it is important that you are able to commit to this schedule. If you and your child cannot commit to such a schedule, you will not see the results; if you can, you will likely see results immediately.
